TouchWall is a cool hardware in the vain of iPhone with a touch screen feature created by Microsoft. As you can guess, the software was built on Vista called as Plex. Actually it is so similar to Microsoft Surface but Touchwall is simpler and is also significantly cheaper. The mechanism uses three infrared laser that scan the surface. If some movement cuts the laser line it is reported to Plex software for the needed action.
As you can see in the video, it works charmingly. Until now, Microsoft has taken mainly positive feedbacks surprisingly because it is a tradition to blame what Microsoft produces amongst the geeks.
It is quite possible that all the future desktop systems will work at the same way how Touchwall, iPhone and Microsoft Surface operates. My hopes are better for eliminating mouse and keyboard increased as well.
I think it is not commercially available from any company now
